Dejan Kulusevski is the subject to loan enquiries from north London sides Arsenal and Tottenham as interest in the Juventus winger grows.

According to Sportmediaset, Arsenal and Tottenham have made loan enquiries for Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski with a view of making a January transfer. Juventus might be open to letting him leave, although the Turin side could demand a permanent deal rather than a temporary one.

Juventus could also be open to the idea of a loan with an obligation to buy, although their primary objective would be to recoup a decent sum for the promising winger. Kulusevski has been an important player under former manager Andrea Pirlo, although he faces an uncertain future under Massimiliano Allegri.

The Swedish star joined Juventus in a deal worth just over €30 million, and the Turin side are prepared to entertain offers of more than €35 million at least. The money demanded may not be a problem for Premier League sides interested in the winger, which brings the questions about the possible reports claiming Arsenal and Tottenham have made loan enquiries.

There’s certainly interest in Kulusevski from the north London giants ahead of the January window. Tottenham are looking for options beyond Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn on the right side. The Swede could be the perfect addition to a developing squad under Antonio Conte.

They have been looking into the Italian market courtesy of Conte and technical director Fabio Paratici, with many other targets in sight. The manager wants to refresh his attacking options, and having seen Kulusevski first-hand while managing Inter Milan, he seems to be favouring a move for the Swede.

But, they have competition from north London rivals Arsenal, who were earlier exploring a swap deal involving Nicolas Pepe. Mikel Arteta is not convinced by the club’s record signing and having not played the winger in many recent games, there are indications a departure for the Ivorian might be on the cards.

Kulusevski is understandably a like-for-like replacement, although his hard-working and productive style may have enticed Arteta to consider a move. The Gunners have reportedly established contact with the player’s camp and have now lodged an enquiry with Juventus over a move in the January window

The baffling part of the story is the loan enquiry, as both Tottenham and Arsenal are more than capable of paying a reasonable transfer fee. Juventus have some attacking targets in mind, namely Dusan Vlahovic, although their current financial plight leaves them out of the race. They might look to raise funds through sales of players such as the Swede,

The report adds that Juventus are willing to entertain offers of €35 million. The money seems reasonable for a player of Kulusevski’s stature, and there could be movement next month. It remains to be seen which of the north London clubs are serious about their intentions. A loan with an option to buy looks to be the favoured operation for both Arsenal and Tottenham, which might not suit Juventus due to their urgent need for a cash injection.
