Liverpool are reportedly prepared to table a bid worth €50 million to sign Toni Kroos from Real Madrid next summer.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Liverpool are ready to step up their efforts to sign Toni Kroos in next summer’s transfer window. The Reds are willing to submit an offer worth around €50 million to secure the services of the Real Madrid midfielder.

Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in July 2014 and has since established himself as one of the best midfielders of his generation. A part of a legendary midfield trifecta alongside Luka Modric and Casemiro, the German international has been a key figure for Los Blancos in the last seven and a half years.

To date, the 31-year-old has made 333 appearances for Real Madrid, chipping in with 24 goals and 82 assists in the process. And despite being on the wrong side of 30, Kroos continues to be one of the best midfielders in the world, which is why several clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, are showing an eagerness to secure his services.

The interest from Liverpool is understandable as they chose not to sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer transfer window. While Harvey Elliott performed superbly after being promoted as a box-to-box midfielder before he picked up an ankle injury, it is worth noting that James Milner is in the twilight of his career.

In addition, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is facing an uncertain future at Anfield. At the same time, there are doubts over whether Naby Keita can be a regular option for Liverpool because of his injury woes. As a result, Kroos is a viable target for Liverpool, with the Reds ready to offer a premium sum to prise him away from Real Madrid.

According to the report, the Premier League heavyweights are prepared to table a bid worth €50 million to land Kroos in next summer’s transfer window. And while it has recently been suggested that the German international has no intention of joining Liverpool and staying put at Real Madrid, Los Blancos are not opposed to parting with their key midfielder.

With Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga already a part of the first-team setup, Real Madrid would not mind selling Kroos, especially considering the €50 million, a handsome sum. So, it remains to be seen if Liverpool can finally land Kroos or if he stays put at Real Madrid.
