Rodrygo Goes should replace Marco Asensio, while Dani Carvajal ought to return when Real Madrid take on Real Sociedad in La Liga on Saturday.

Real Madrid will be aiming to bag all three points and tighten their hold on the top spot in the La Liga standings when they travel to Reale Arena to face off against Real Sociedad.

Carlo Ancelotti does not have any new injury issues to contend with ahead of the trip to San Sebastian. However, both Dani Ceballos and Gareth Bale are set to miss out again, although both the players are closing in on a return. “Bale won’t be in the squad but he’s back training with the team. He’ll be back next week. Ceballos has started training on his own,” the manager said in his press conference.

The manager was also asked about him not rotating his troops often despite the packed fixture schedule, to which he responded: “I have made some changes, for example, Nacho against Granada; Mariano against Elche; and Camavinga against Osasuna. I’ve rotated a lot with Rodrygo and Asensio; I’ve also done it with Lucas Vazquez, Carvajal and Marcelo. I’ve made a few changes.”

Despite a crucial encounter against Inter Milan coming up, Ancelotti is likely to stick with the majority of the players he started against Athletic Bilbao in midweek. Thibaut Courtois will continue in goal for Real Madrid while the centre-back pairing of Eder Militao and David Alaba should remain intact as well.

Ferland Mendy is expected to continue at left-back ahead of Marcelo, but we could see a change on the opposite flank, with Dani Carvajal set to return to the side after being rested in midweek. Lucas Vazquez will be the one to make way for the veteran Spaniard.

Moving into the middle of the park, Ancelotti has appeared extremely reluctant to change things up, particularly in this department. And we expect Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos to start yet again against Real Sociedad on Saturday, with Eduardo Camavinga likely to get some minutes from the bench in the second half.

Marco Asensio did not fare all too well in the midweek clash against Athletic and should drop out of the lineup. Instead, Rodrygo Goes should come into the starting XI, slotting in on the right flank while there is no looking past Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior for the remaining two attacking positions for Real Madrid against Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid Predicted XI: Courtois, Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy, Modric, Casemiro, Kroos, Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius.
