Juventus have let Jorginho know of their intentions to sign him if the midfielder decides to leave Chelsea with a new contract yet to be signed.

According to Calciomercato, Serie A giants Juventus have contacted Jorginho’s camp recently with a view of exploring the idea to bring the midfielder back to Serie A. The midfielder is yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea, with his contract expiring in 2023.

At 29 years old, Jorginho is at the peak of his career, and incidentally, Chelsea are doing well on all fronts. The Italian was instrumental in bringing success to Stamford Bridge last season, as he played a leading role in the Champions League triumph. This season, he has been involved even more by Thomas Tuchel as the Blues aim to conquer on all fronts.

Jorginho was instrumental for Italy en route to lifting the UEFA Euro 2020 title in the summer, thereby enhancing his reputation even further. With that, his importance and market value soared as Chelsea pondered a brand new deal for the Italian.

There is nothing signed between the player and Chelsea yet as Jorginho’s contract expires in the summer of 2023. The Blues are confident of retaining him for years to come, and the same could be said about the midfielder. However, if the wait for the renewal drags on, some big clubs are expected to eye a move for him.

In what seemed like a PR exercise, Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, recently dropped hints over a return to Serie A. It may seem like fueling speculation; there may be nothing to those stories, as the Chelsea midfielder remains content with life in London.

However, Juventus are reportedly keeping tabs over his contractual development at the Premier League side. The Serie A giants are keen on signing him if he decides to leave Chelsea and have supposedly contacted his camp to know their intentions.

Juventus are reportedly willing to let Aaron Ramsey leave next summer, which will open up space and direct the Welshman’s huge wage towards someone like Jorginho. In any case, if Chelsea decide to sell, they will not let him leave on the cheap, and the asking price will likely put off the Turin club.

As things stand, there is optimism over Jorginho signing a new contract with Chelsea and ending speculation over his future. He is a fan favourite and certainly at the centre of Tuchel’s plans for the season and beyond.
