Manchester United are interested in Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic although they face competition from fellow Premier League sides Tottenham and Newcastle United.

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are keen on Dusan Vlahovic as the club eye the frontman for the long-term future. They have competition from Tottenham and Newcastle United, who are willing to pay a high price for the wantaway Serbian.

Dusan Vlahovic has started the current season the way he ended the previous one. The striker has been in explosive form scoring 12 goals and chalking four assists in Serie A. He recently scored a brace against AC Milan, which ended their unbeaten run in the league, and on current form, he could help Fiorentina propel to new heights.

However, his future is of grave concern for La Viola, as Vlahovic has categorically declined to sign the new contract offered by Fiorentina, meaning the Italian side might look to cash in on him. They are demanding around €80 million for their prized asset, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2023.

When the season ends, the striker’s value could plummet, and Fiorentina are not prepared to take a hit on the potential fees they might receive in the next window. Arsenal were earlier linked with the striker, although those stories have gone cold now. However, Premier League sides could look to prise him away with Tottenham and Newcastle United, the firm contenders.

The cash-rich Magpies are prepared to pay the €80 million fee demanded by Fiorentina, while new Spurs boss Antonio Conte remains an admirer of the striker. Manchester City might also line up a move for the Serbian if Pep Guardiola decides he is the right fit for his system.

Manchester United are the latest to show an interest in the striker, with the club planning for the long-term future of their front line. They might currently have Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo to lead the line, although both are well into their thirties. The duo does not offer a solution for the future, something Vlahovic might.

The Red Devils certainly have the financial firepower to make a deal happen, although their current situation might not tempt Vlahovic into accepting an offer. However, the lure of playing for a club of Manchester United’s aura and stature could also have its way of convincing the player to move to Old Trafford.

Either way, Vlahovic is destined to move away from Fiorentina in January or the summer window, at the right price. With no shortage of suitors, the striker will have a plethora of choices to choose from with Newcastle, Tottenham and Manchester United having a fair chance to sign him.
