Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona superstar Memphis Depay, with the Catalans likely to entertain offers of over €60 million for the Dutchman.

According to a report from El Nacional, Juventus have set their sights on Barcelona and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay and plan to lure him away from Camp Nou in the summer of 2022.

Depay signed for Barcelona only this past summer, arriving on a free transfer after his contract with Olympique Lyon ran out. His arrival generated a lot of optimism at Camp Nou due to his performances with the Ligue 1 outfit and the Dutch national team in recent times. And, the 27-year-old started the season with a bang in Catalonia as well, emerging as one of Barca’s best players early on.

However, Depay’s form has nosedived in recent weeks, with the former Manchester United struggling to find the back of the net on a regular basis. He was one of the poorest performers for Barcelona earlier this week against SL Benfica, failing to tuck away chances after starting in the No. 9 role.

The report states that Depay is not entirely happy with Ronald Koeman’s exit and hasn’t settled in all too well in new manager Xavi Hernandez’s system, even though it is still early days. Nonetheless, his situation isn’t all too comfortable at Camp Nou, and Juventus want to capitalise.

The Bianconeri had tried to sign the Dutchman on a free transfer during the summer but were rejected as Depay sought to reunite with Koeman at Barcelona. However, Massimiliano Allegri remains keen on the 27-year-old and has asked Juventus to go after his signing should he be made available for a transfer.

With Alvaro Morata struggling to deliver the goods at the Allianz Stadium and Moise Kean not performing as expected upon returning, the Old Lady are looking to beef up their attacking options, which makes sense. Furthermore, Federico Chiesa has emerged as a subject of interest from Chelsea, and his potential departure would leave Juve needing quality reinforcements.

Depay, to that end, has emerged as a viable option to consider for the Serie A giants. Barcelona, for their part, do not intend to sell the Dutchman. However, given their financial troubles and the need to strengthen the squad in multiple positions, the Catalans could consider changing their stance if an offer of around €60 million would come along.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Depay, who has netted seven goals in eighteen appearances for Barcelona since he arrived in the summer transfer window.
