Real Madrid are reportedly demanding €50 million to part ways with Marco Asensio after rejecting a bid worth €30 million from Juventus.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Juventus now know how much they will need to shell out to sign Marco Asensio after having a €30 million bid rejected. Real Madrid have told the Bianconeri to cough up €50 million to secure the services of the 25-year-old forward.

Asensio has been going through a rough patch at Real Madrid since returning from a near season-long layoff due to a knee injury last year. Having struggled to perform at optimum levels, the Spanish international has lost his place as a regular for club and country.

The 25-year-old has started only four of the 16 games played by Real Madrid this season, raking in three goals and an assist in the process. However, despite his struggles, there is no shortage of interest in Asensio, who is being courted by several bigwigs of European football, including Juventus.

The interest from Juventus is understandable amid the uncertainties surrounding the future of Dejan Kulusevski. After struggling to establish a foothold in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, the Swedish forward is tipped to depart the Allianz Stadium in the January transfer window.

In addition, Juan Cuadrado is approaching the final part of his career and will need to start getting phased out as a regular in due course of time. So, it is understandable why Juventus would want to sign a wide forward, making Asensio a viable target.

The Real Madrid ace has also been linked with several other clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, but the first club to pull the European giants in his pursuit are Juventus. As per the report, the Serie A heavyweights have tabled a bid worth €30 million for the 25-year-old, which has quickly been rejected by Real Madrid.

While the Merengues are ready to part ways with the Spaniard, they are demanding €50 million for him. According to the report, Juventus could be open to shelling out around €40 million, which will fall slightly short of Real Madrid’s demands but could do the trick. So, it remains to be seen how talks progress between the two clubs as Asensio approached the exit door at the Santiago Bernabeu.
