Chelsea are reportedly ready to table a bid worth €60 million to sign Aurelien Tchouameni, a target for Real Madrid and Liverpool.
According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Chelsea are in pole position to sign Aurelien Tchouameni. The Blues are prepared to shell out €60 million to secure the services of the French midfielder, who is also being courted by Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Aurelien Tchouameni has become one of the most coveted figures in the transfer market since joining AS Monaco from Bordeaux in January 2020. In this time, he has also broken into the French national side, and he played a key role in their UEFA Nations League triumph last month.
To date, the 21-year-old has made 65 appearances for Monaco, chipping in with five goals and four assists along the way. His progress has not gone unnoticed, with some of the biggest clubs in Europe keen on signing him. As things stand, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea are among his suitors.
The interest from Real Madrid makes sense, considering the foundations are being laid for the next generation of first-choice midfield trio. Two of the pieces of the puzzle are already in place, with Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga tipped for bright futures at the Santiago Bernabeu. And Tchouameni is a viable target for Real Madrid to continue the said project.
As for Liverpool, they are hot on the trail of Tchouameni for a good reason. The 21-year-old could be a long-term replacement for James Milner, who is in the twilight of his career. In addition, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is facing an uncertain future at Anfield, which is why it is understandable why Liverpool would want to bring in someone like Tchouameni.
Finally, Chelsea are also eager to land the French international, having recently made contact to sign him. The Blues have been touted to be in the market for a reinforcement despite having a loaded midfield unit. However, with N’Golo Kante struggling with a few fitness issues lately, Tchouameni could be an option worth considering.
According to Tutto Juve, Chelsea are leading the race to sign Tchouameni as they are prepared to offer €60 million to sign him. Such a stance puts the west Londoners ahead of Real Madrid and Liverpool as Monaco have been demanding €50 million for him.
