Real Madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on the development of Fluminense winger Luiz Henrique as they consider signing him for their Castilla outfit.

According to a report from AS, Real Madrid are interested in signing 20-year-old Brazilian attacker Luiz Henrique from Fluminense in order to bolster their reserve team.

A product of the Fluminense youth academy, Henrique made his first-team debut in 2020 and has since made 76 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and setting up six more. The youngster has been called up to the Brazil Under-20 national team but is yet to make his bow.

A right-winger by trade, Henrique can play out on the left flank and has even been used in the centre-forward role at times. A player with plenty of promise, the 20-year-old Brazilian has now popped up on the radars of Spanish heavyweights, Real Madrid.

The Merengues have been known to keep a keen eye out on the up and coming talent in Brazil and the rest of South America. In recent years, they have tasted success with that recruitment policy, with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes becoming key members of the first team while Reinier Jesus is also tipped for a bright future.

So, it does not come as a surprise that Real Madrid continue to monitor promising young players in Brazil, most recently having been linked to Matheus Franca of Flamengo. In addition to that, Los Blancos are also keeping a close watch on the development of Athletico Paranaense’s Gabriel Pereira, Gustavo Silva of Corinthians, Renyer of Santos and New York City FC’s Talles Magno.

The latest of the string of Brazilian players to have popped up on the radars of the Spanish capital outfit is Luiz Henrique. The report, however, adds that the 20-year-old is being targeted to strengthen the Real Madrid Castilla outfit.

Known for his pace and the ability to dribble past opponents, the youngster would not be eligible to represent the senior team as things stand, as the three non-EU player slots are occupied by Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Eder Militao. Henrique’s contract with Fluminense runs till the summer of 2025. So, the Brazilian club could demand a sizeable transfer fee for the 20-year-old’s services.

It remains to be seen if Henrique ends up making his way to Raul Gonzalez’s Real Madrid Castilla outfit in the near future.
