Manchester United are among the clubs reportedly interested in the services of RB Leipzig attacker Dominik Szoboszlai.

According to a report from SportBild, as cited by Sport Witness, Manchester United have emerged as one of the potential suitors for Dominik Szoboszlai. The RB Leipzig playmaker is not exclusively available in the market, but he could be allowed to leave the club should any interested parties agree to meet his €60-70 million release clause.

Manchester United have been named as one of the two interested clubs alongside Atletico Madrid. They are both closely tracking the progress of Szobozlai, who has had to endure a difficult start to his Bundesliga career after joining from Red Bull Salzburg in January for a fee of around €20 million.

In fact, Szoboszlai failed to appear in a single game last season due to an injury. However, in the new season, the Hungarian international has hit the ground running under the leadership of his former Salzburg coach Jesse Marsch.

In 15 competitive matches so far, the 21-year-old has been involved in nine goals, notably scoring in the draw with Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month. His combination play with the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Dani Olmo have raised many eyebrows this season.

Manchester United, too, have been left impressed by the Hungarian’s performances. It appears they are even scouting the player as a potential target next season, as the club looks to add quality to its creative department.

However, the likelihood of the move remains unlikely in the near future, as Szoboszlai has only joined Leipzig at the start of the year. His €60-70 million release clause is also set to serve as an obstacle, and more importantly, the player might not find Manchester United a suitable destination.

The Red Devils have faced a lot of criticism for their treatment of talented stars like Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard in recent times. Although their fortunes could change in the event of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s potential departure, Manchester United are facing a grave managerial crisis.

As for Szobozlai, he is not the only Leipzig player being linked with a move away from Red Bull Arena. Lately, Tyler Adams has emerged as a top target for Arsenal while Manchester United themselves are eyeing a move for another Leipzig attacker in the form of Dani Olmo.

It remains to be seen which one of these stars end up leaving Leipzig, as the Bundesliga giants brace themselves for yet another mass exodus next summer.
