Fiorentina are willing to negotiate with Arsenal for Dusan Vlahovic after recent reports linking the striker with an €80 million move.

According to La Nazione, as relayed by Sport Witness, Fiorentina are prepared to hold talks with Arsenal and negotiate a transfer for Dusan Vlahovic. The Gunners are in the hunt for a centre-forward with the futures of their two strikers uncertain.

After a consistent run of form in Serie A, Dusan Vlahovic has put himself firmly on the transfer platform. The Serbian has continued to add to last season’s tally of 21 goals, having already netted 8 times in the league this term. The striker has attracted interest from plenty of Premier League sides, as a transfer away looks imminent.

Fiorentina are resigned to losing him, even though they were confident earlier of extending his contract. They warded off plenty of interest during the summer with that belief as Manchester City and Tottenham showed interest. There weren’t any specific bids for the striker, although it has made up Vlahovic’s mind to leave.

The striker is prepared to leave Fiorentina after refusing to sign a new deal, and the Italian side are now open to offers. Arsenal have recently been linked with a sensational move for the former Partizan Belgrade ace. Recent reports suggested an €80 million offer inclusive of add-ons might have convinced the Serie A club.

Those stories have been dismissed as the latest one suggests that Fiorentina are prepared to sit down with the Gunners and discuss a possible move. It will take a huge price to convince the club to sell, especially in mid-season.

Arsenal certainly need to reinforce forwards next season. Eddie Nketiah and, more importantly, Alexandre Lacazette’s future are more than uncertain, with the duo expected to leave on free transfers. The Gunners want to continue their recent pattern of recruiting young players with potential, and Vlahovic certainly fits the criteria.

His numbers are impressive enough to have convinced Mikel Arteta of his qualities. The Spaniard wants a long-term option, and the physicality of Vlahovic would be perfect for the Premier League.

The Gunners will probably have to dig deep, for the 21-year-old is reportedly waiting on other offers to arrive. It’s not to suggest he doesn’t fancy Arsenal, but he needs to evaluate everything. The suggestion of the €80 million fees continues to do the rounds in the media.

Vlahovic will only have one year left on his deal at the end of the season, and there could be a queue ahead of Arsenal for his signature. Tottenham and Manchester City are certainly expected to be ready to make the most of any opportunity, along with some of the Spanish giants alongside Juventus in Italy.
