Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has emerged as a top target for La Liga giants Sevilla in January.

According to a report from Fichajes, Sevilla are exploring a move for Tanguy Ndombele. The Tottenham midfielder has emerged as one of the priority targets for the club’s sporting director Monchi.

The report suggests that Ndombele is valued at around €35-45 million, with Spurs open to offloading him in the upcoming January transfer window. It appears club chairman Daniel Levy is well aware of the fact that this is an ideal time to cash in on the midfielder and recoup some of the money the club had to acquire his services in 2019.

Ndombele was thought to be excluded from the plans of new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo at the start of the campaign. However, the Frenchman has recently become a key part of the club’s creative unit, even establishing himself as a first-team regular in the number ten role, ahead of Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso.

The midfielder hasn’t been overly impressive with his performances. However, his creativity and physical prowess have offered Spurs much more substance than his alternatives, thus adding an extra dimension to the team’s offensive game.

Other clubs are well aware of Ndombele’s quality as well, with the player still being linked with a switch to Real Madrid. But it appears Sevilla have joined the race as well, as Monchi looks to bolster his team’s midfield options in the upcoming January transfer window.

Los Nervionenses have had a solid start to the campaign, but they are a little shallow when it comes to their creative options. Oscar Rodriguez and Oliver Torres have not been able to rack up goals and assists so far, thus accentuating the need for a creative midfielder, who can add that extra bit of flair in the final third. Ndombele, to that end, fits the bill well.

Sevilla and Tottenham have done a lot of business lately, notably sanctioning the swap deal between Bryan Gil and Erik Lamela in the summer. Although the move hasn’t worked out well for either team so far, Sevilla are confident that Ndombele has what it takes to make a difference in Spain.

As for Spurs, they are unlikely to be fazed by the departure of the Frenchman. In fact, it could serve as a major financial boost that could help them in their pursuit of January targets like Aurelien Tchouameni, among many others.
