Ajax starlet Antony is being tracked by Manchester City, while Bayern Munich and AS Monaco are also interested in the services of the Brazilian.

According to Calciomercato, Bayern Munich are ready to rival Manchester City in the race to sign Antony. The Ajax winger is attracting a lot of attention owing to his performances in the Eredivisie and in the UEFA Champions League, with French giants AS Monaco also interested in his services.

Formerly of the Sao Paulo youth academy, Antony’s stock has grown exponentially since his move to Ajax last summer. He was involved in as many as 17 goals in his maiden season in the Eredivisie, helping the club lift the title for the 35th time. He has stepped up his game even more in the ongoing campaign, especially in the Champions League.

The Brazilian’s performance in the 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund, in particular, has raised a lot of eyebrows across Europe. Bayern Munich, for one, are ready to enter the race for the Ajax starlet, as they look for a replacement for Kingsley Coman.

The Frenchman’s contract expires in 2023, with reports suggesting interest from the cash-rich Newcastle United recently. It won’t be surprising to see the winger moving on either, having fallen behind Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane in the pecking order this season.

Coman’s departure should pave the way for Antony to join Bayern and fight for his place in the first team. However, the player is also monitored by Manchester City, who are considering him as a potential alternative for Riyad Mahrez.

Not to mention, the Citizens are expected to cash in on Raheem Sterling. The Englishman is reportedly unhappy with his lack of game-time under Pep Guardiola, with Barcelona emerging as a potential destination in the upcoming January transfer window.

Sterling’s exit should serve as a massive boost for Antony’s chances of making a breakthrough at Etihad. However, it remains to be seen whether he opts to leave Ajax anytime soon, as he did just join the club in the summer last year and might want to gain a bit more experience at the highest level of football, before making the next step in his career.

Moreover, the interest from AS Monaco could be a bigger threat for Manchester City and Bayern Munich, as the French outfit is capable of offering the Brazilian regular game-time. It could be vital for the player’s progress, so it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the talented winger next summer.
