Manchester United are considering a summer move for Aurelien Tchouameni, who is also a target for Chelsea and Real Madrid.

If reports from 90 min are to be believed, Manchester United are ready to rival Chelsea in pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni. The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for not just one but two midfielders next summer, as they look to strengthen their ranks in the middle of the park.

Tchouameni has emerged as an ideal candidate due to his rapid rise to prominence at AS Monaco. The youngster was a vital part of the club’s third-place finish under Niko Kovac last season and has started the new campaign on a positive note, even becoming a crucial member of the French team this summer.

Tchouameni’s silky ball movement and flair have put a host of top European clubs on red alert. Chelsea, for one, have been linked with a move for the Frenchman this season, but they are not the only club, as the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on the youngster.

Manchester United’s desire to sign the Monaco starlet, though, is particularly interesting, as the player is quite similar to their own midfield asset in Paul Pogba. As such, one would argue that the 21-year-old might not fit the bill at Old Trafford, knowing the club is primarily looking for a holding midfielder, having already been linked with a move for Kalvin Phillips.

However, it is fair to point out that Pogba’s current deal with Manchester United expires at the end of the season. His super-agent Mino Raiola is already pushing for a move to Real Madrid next summer, which might create a massive void in the club’s creative midfield unit.

As a result, Manchester United are considering a move for Aurelien Tchouameni, in case Pogba opts to see out his contract at Old Trafford this season. The Red Devils believe that the youngster has what it takes to perform at the top level and it has been reflected in his performances for France and Monaco.

However, the Frenchman certainly isn’t the only option, as the club is also in the market for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham as well as Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, though both of them remain unlikely to leave their respective clubs next summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will also be in the running for Tchouameni, especially with N’Golo Kante’s fitness issues compounding lately. An intriguing transfer battle, thus, seems to be setting up between Chelsea and Manchester United, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
