Manchester United and Manchester City are keeping close tabs on Ghanaian footballing sensation Mizak Asante.

A recent report from Ghana Soccer Net has offered an exciting update on the future of Mizak Asante. The young attacker from Ghana is currently one of the most talked-about prospects in Africa. He recently mesmerised the onlookers with a viral solo goal that has attracted interest from a host of top clubs across Europe.

As confirmed by his coach at Golden Kicks, Premier League duo Manchester United and Manchester City have already registered their interest in the attacker. Juventus and Genk were the other clubs who were left impressed by the 15-year-old, who is tipped to achieve big things in his future.

While Asante was already quite a talked-about prospect in the local Ghanaian football scene, he raised the eyebrows in the crucial Division Two Middle League game last Sunday against Mobile Phone People FC.

The youngster’s team Golden Kicks FC were trailing in the game before he took it upon himself to dribble past four players as well as the goalkeeper to find the back of the net and force the game to a shootout. Golden Kicks FC won the resultant shootout, drawing a frenzy in the Accra Sports Stadium.

Manchester United are among the clubs who have made their interest known, in the 15-year-old prodigy. In recent years, the Red Devils have found immense success in developing talent, with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford all becoming key first-team options after stemming from the academy.

Their cross-town rivals Manchester City aren’t far behind either, though one of their crown jewels in Jadon Sancho is currently representing Man United, joining from Borussia Dortmund in a big-money move this summer.

Aside from Phil Foden, not too many players have been able to integrate themselves into Man City’s first-team in recent years. But their academy has continued to produce exciting talents like Tosin Adarabioyo and Liam Delap, whose potential move to Dortmund in the summer was blocked by the reigning English champions.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see whether the hugely talented Mizak Asante ends up any of these two Premier League giants in the near future. At the age of just 15, it will be impossible for him to find a permit in the UK, but the youngster is certainly a prospect worth keeping an eye on, as he continues his development with Golden Kicks FC.
