Barcelona are reportedly closely monitoring the progress of 17-year-old Spanish attacking sensation Alberto Moleiro.

According to a report by Spanish publication SPORT, Barcelona have set their sights on Alberto Moleiro over a potential move in a future transfer window. The Catalan giants, in fact, recently had a scout in attendance to watch the 17-year-old Spanish attacking sensation in action for UD Las Palmas.

Alberto Moleiro is regarded as one of the brightest young players in Spain at the moment, having broken into the Spanish under-19 setup despite being aged just 17. The teenage prodigy has also made his bow for UD Las Palmas, making his debut for the Canary Island club at the onset of the ongoing season.

The Spanish attacking sensation has taken no time to establish himself as a regular feature for Las Palmas, making five La Liga Smartbank appearances while also scoring his first senior goal to boot. And his swift progress has piqued the interest of one of the biggest clubs in the Iberian region, with Barcelona setting their sights on Moleiro.

Barcelona are constantly on the lookout for the brightest young talents, not just in Spain but across Europe and beyond. Such an outlook has seen them sign a number of prodigious players over the years, for their youth teams as well as the first-team setup.

To that end, they recently reached an agreement to sign Turkish whizkid Emre Demir, having also landed his namesake Yusuf Demir in the summer transfer window. And now, Barcelona have set their sights on Moleiro, who is quickly making a name for himself as not just one for the future but also the present times.

Moleiro is the latest Las Palmas prodigy to have popped up on Barcelona’s radar, with the Blaugrana signing Pedri from the Canary Islands club last year. And if Moleiro is anything like the 18-year-old Spanish sensation, who is now being heavily linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, Barcelona will have a bargain on their hands.

The Catalan giants recently scouted the 17-year-old in action and it looks like a move could be in the offing soon enough. For now, Moleiro has popped up on Barcelona’s radar, with the youngster set to be tracked further in the weeks and months to come.
