Liverpool are considering backing out from the pursuit of Jude Bellingham, with Jurgen Klopp reluctant to raid Borussia Dortmund.

According to Mirror, Liverpool could pull the plug on their pursuit of Jude Bellingham. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in world football and has attracted the attention of a host of clubs across Europe, with the Reds reportedly to be in pole position previously.

However, it appears Jurgen Klopp is having second thoughts over his team’s pursuit of Bellingham. The German tactician is not too keen on raiding his former club Borussia Dortmund and still has strong ties with the Bundesliga giants.

Liverpool have not signed a single Dortmund player since Klopp joined the club in 2015. They have been linked with multiple players in the past including Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic, but nothing ever really materialised. And it seems the same scenario could entail for Bellingham, who has emerged as a top target for the Reds next summer.

The Merseyside giants were even reportedly willing to shell out €100 million for the 18-year-old English international, who has enjoyed immense success since joining Dortmund last summer.

One of Liverpool’s very own, Jordan Henderson rates Bellingham very highly, having played with him in the England national team. He has recently praised him in an interview and those praises have been certainly backed up by the player’s excellent performances for Dortmund this season.

Indeed, the youngster has sparked into life under Marco Rose, having already been involved in six goals in eight competitive outings. His splendid performances have helped Dortmund flourish, especially in the middle of the park with the youngster offering the aggression and youthful exuberance that is tailor-made for Klopp’s tactical philosophy at Liverpool.

However, it is fair to point out that even without Klopp’s reluctance in raiding his former club, it is highly unlikely that Bellingham would want to move elsewhere anytime soon. The 18-year-old midfielder is extremely happy in the Bundesliga, with Dortmund themselves determined to keep hold of him for long term.

The same cannot be said for Erling Haaland, who is tipped to leave the club next summer. Recent reports do suggest that the Black and Yellows are eyeing a potential new deal for the Norwegian, but a host of major clubs, including Liverpool are ready to pounce on him in the near future.
