Barcelona are pondering an emergency double swoop of Paraguayan twins Oscar and Angel Romero, who are free agents after leaving San Lorenzo.

According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Oscar Romero and Angel Romero are the subjects of interest from Barcelona over a potential emergency double swoop following the injury sustained by Martin Braithwaite. The Paraguayan attacking duo are free agents after the expiration of their deals with San Lorenzo.

Oscar Romero and Angel Romero both started out at Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno before leaving the club in 2014. The twins then embarked on different challenges for half a decade before reuniting at Argentine club San Lorenzo two years ago.

Both Oscar and Angel featured 55 times each for San Lorenzo, chipping in with a combined 23 goals and 21 assists in the process. The Paraguayan attacking duo, though, are now free agents after ending their respective spells at San Lorenzo. And now, the 29-year-old pair have popped up on the radar of Barcelona.

Barcelona are considering the possibility of making an emergency signing for the attacking unit following the injury sustained by Martin Braithwaite. An emergency signing himself, the Danish international’s absence could create a void in the attacking department at Camp Nou.

As a result, the Blaugrana are evaluating several profiles of various free agents to come in this month. To that end, Oscar Romero and Angel Romero have emerged on their radar, with a move for the 29-year-old duo being weighing up now.

Ronald Koeman currently has the likes of Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong, Sergio Aguero, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele at his disposal for the three attacking slots in his side, with Yusuf Demir a possible option as well, if required.

However, with Aguero, Dembele and Fati on the sidelines, it is understandable why Barcelona would want to make an emergency signing. What now remains to be seen if Barcelona launch the offensive for the Romero brothers, or if they wait till the January transfer window to bolster their attacking unit, with a move for Raheem Sterling likely to be in the offing.
