Arsenal are reportedly considering a fresh move for Sevilla attacker Youssef En-Nesyri and could offer Alexandre Lacazette in the deal to the La Liga outfit.

According to Rudy Galetti, Arsenal remain interested in the services of Youssef En-Nesyri. The 24-year-old Sevilla forward has emerged as one of the top targets for Mikel Arteta as he looks to bolster his offensive options in the January transfer window.

The Gunners have already enquired about the availability of En-Nesyri and are even weighing up an assault on the striker. In fact, they are prepared to include Alexandre Lacazette in a potential player-plus-cash-deal to snap up the goalscoring centre-forward away from Sevilla in the near future.

Formerly of Malaga and Leganes, En-Nesyri has been an immense success at Sevilla since joining the club in January 2020 for a fee of €20 million. Although the 24-year-old forward only scored four goals in 18 matches during the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign, his 18 goals last term were critical in helping the club attain a top four finish in La Liga.

The Moroccan international’s impressive performances, it seems, have now attracted the attention of Arsenal, who are actively searching the market for a long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese international simply has not quite got going under Mikel Arteta. His teammate Lacazette has been equally disappointing as well, failing to even start a single game in the Premier League this term.

Lacazette, nevertheless, was reportedly courted by Sevilla this week and it appears the Gunners are prepared to take advantage of their interest by using him as a makeweight in deal to sign En-Nesyri.

Arsenal’s interest in snapping up the Moroccan is hardly surprising as Arteta looks to find a proper alternative for his current crop of strikers. The 24-year-old, in that regard, brings a decent amount of experience at the highest level of football and perhaps most importantly, offers an ideal mix of technical prowess and physicality in his game that could tune in well with the Spaniard’s tactical philosophy.

Not to mention, En-Nesyri is a much more realistic option for Arsenal when compared to someone like Lautaro Martinez,  who was one of the top targets in the summer, only for Inter Milan to rebuff their attempts.

The Moroccan forward is not the only Sevilla player Arsenal are currently interested in either, as they are also in the market for Jules Kounde, although it is fair to point out that Chelsea are the undisputed favourites in that chase.
