Youri Tielemans has admitted his openness to multiple outcomes regarding his future, amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to the Mirror, Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has left his future choices open after hinting towards a possible future move away from the club. Manchester United and Liverpool are among the sides showing keen interest in the Belgian, with his contractual situation still balanced.

Tielemans was supposedly a big investment Leicester made for the club’s future. However, the situation has rendered the club to be forced into a choice over his future, as there has been no progress over a reported new contract for the Belgian. His fate, for now, remains an open subject amid widespread interest.

The Belgian was instrumental in Leicester’s rise to the Premier League top six in recent seasons. The highlight of his time with the club came last season in the FA Cup Final after scoring the game’s only goal against Chelsea. However, the club are now in a position to cash in or try to extend his contract.

He has two years left on his current deal and, at 24 years of age, has plenty to offer to a potential new side. Manchester United and Liverpool have remained keen on signing him for some time now, and next summer could be crucial to determine his future.

Manchester United have a shortage of quality midfielders, with fans still unconvinced by the likes of Fred or Scott McTominay. The quality displayed by Tielemans could make him a superb addition to the long-term future of the club.

Additionally, Paul Pogba’s situation is also the subject of speculation, with the French star already in the last year of his contract. Tielemans could be a perfect replacement for the midfielder, considering his decent numbers in terms of goals and assists for Leicester since joining from Monaco.

As for Liverpool, they are yet to replace Gini Wijnaldum since his departure to PSG in the summer. At the same time, Jurgen Klopp chose to rely on his current options this season. One of them was Harvey Elliot, who is probably out for the season, and if an opportunity such as Tielemans rises, the manager may take it.

Tielemans could be a good match for Liverpool and their playing style and a proper central midfielder they could rely on for years to come.

Leicester, meanwhile, will need to do their best to convince him over a new deal. The Foxes are aware they may not have the chance to keep Tielemans for the long-term future, so they might offer the new contract to protect his value, considering they paid £40 million for his permanent transfer from Monaco.
