Liverpool have emerged as one of the potential destinations for Robert Lewandowski, who is expected to leave Bayern Munich next summer.

Local reports suggest that the Polish goal machine has asked Bayern Munich to leave the Bundesliga club when as he searches for a new challenge after many years in Bavaria. It has put multiple clubs on red alert, including Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp has, in fact, requested the board to secure the services of the Polish international, who had played under the German during their time together at Borussia Dortmund. Lewandowski is even a great admirer of Klopp and recognises the impact the Liverpool manager has had in his career.
A reunion, therefore, could be on the cards next summer, with Liverpool already in the market for a new striker who can prove to be an upgrade over Roberto Firmino. They have been recently linked with a move for RB Salzburg’s young sensation Karim Adeyemi, but would certainly jump at the opportunity of signing Lewandowski.
Regarded as the best forward in Europe right now, the Pole has enjoyed incredible success over the past couple of years. Since the start of the 2019/20 campaign, he has scored more goals than any other player among Europe’s top-five leagues, most recently breaking Gerd Muller’s record of 41 in a single Bundesliga campaign last term.

The 33-year-old would be a definite upgrade over Firmino at Anfield, emerging as an ideal goalscorer for the Reds, who also boast the services of productive attacking players such as Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane. And the Pole could certainly thrive under the tactical leadership of his former trainer Klopp.
Premier League is thought to be the most likely destination for Lewandowski next summer, but Liverpool won’t have it easy in their pursuit of the Bayern Munich forward. Recent reports already suggest that the striker is being courted by Real Madrid next summer while Manchester City is another potential destination.
