Everton and West Ham United are considering a move for Aberdeen’s teenage right-back Calvin Ramsay after the youngster’s impressive displays.

According to The Scottish Sun, Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay is a target for Premier League sides in the January window or next summer. The teenager has impressed West Ham United and Everton managers, in the process, leaving them to ponder over a move for the rising star.

After some bit-part roles in previous seasons, Calvin Ramsay seems to have found a breakthrough in this Aberdeen side. Since the start of the current season, Ramsay has featured in five Premiership games and six UECL qualifiers.

His stock seems to be growing rapidly, as Premier League clubs have already begun circling around. West Ham and Everton are understood to be interested in the right-back as they ponder over a January move.

The Hammers are interested in bringing cover for Vladimir Coufal and develop a player for the future. David Moyes will not favour paying over the odds in case talks are held with Aberdeen, although the Hammers could become an interesting prospect for the teenager.

Everton, meanwhile, are reportedly the club keener on recruiting Ramsay in January. They have an interest in Rangers teenager Nathan Patterson, who they tried to sign this summer. The Scottish champions rejected a £5 million bid, as they held out for at least £10 million for the right-back.

Despite stories suggesting Everton might go back with an improved offer for Patterson, there are fears the interest might have ended. This is why the Merseysiders have shifted their focus on Ramsay as an alternative to the Rangers star as they look to secure a backup for captain Seamus Coleman at right-back.

If the transfer fee asked by Steven Gerrard’s side was the issue, then Aberdeen are in line to demand a similar amount. Ramsay has a contract until 2024, and the Premiership side may not bow down to lower offers from the Premier League side for their promising starlet.

It could become a story to keep an eye on as it progresses into the January window. It remains to be seen how serious the interest from Everton and West Ham is in Ramsay.
