Real Madrid have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign 19-year-old German sensation Karim Adeyemi from Red Bull Salzburg.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, the list of prospective suitors for Karim Adeyemi just continues to grow with each passing day. The 19-year-old German prodigy is being tailed by the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, among other European bigwigs.

Karim Adeyemi has finally started to blossom as a top class striker since joining Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2018. While he was initially sent out on loan to FC Liefering, he has made some fine progress since returning from his temporary stint away and has started 2021/22 on a strong note.

In nine appearances so far this season, Adeyemi has tallied a solid record of seven goals and an assist. His progress has also helped the 19-year-old get his big break for the German national side, and the teenage prodigy recently scored on debut against Armenia as well. Suffice to say, he is starting to pop up on the radars of top clubs across Europe, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona have, in fact, already started closely monitoring Adeyemi, which is a solid move for their long-term future, seeing as summer arrivals Luuk de Jong and Sergio Aguero are both only short-term solutions at best. With Martin Braithwaite also seemingly an expendable quantity, making a move for someone like Adeyemi could be a good decision.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have only recently joined the race to sign the German prodigy, and it is quite a surprising development. That is because Los Blancos are reportedly plotting a double swoop for their attack in the form of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

If Haaland, in particular, joins Real Madrid, it will be hard for Adeyemi to secure much game-time, although he could be a viable target in the event that the Merengues fail to sign the Norwegian ace. Meanwhile, apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munch are also showing an interest in the 19-year-old.
