Brighton & Hove Albion are bracing themselves for potential January raids from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool for the services of Yves Bissouma.

According to Metro Sport reporter Aden-Jay Wood, Brighton & Hove Albion could still end up losing Yves Bissouma this season as Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all retaining their interest in the talented midfielder and could make a move in the January transfer window.

Bissouma was one of the most talked-about midfielders in the English market during the summer transfer window, with the majority of top-six clubs including Manchester United registering interest in the Brighton star. However, a move did not materialise, as the Seagulls showed resolve and were unwilling to lose another star player, after shipping Ben White to Arsenal.

The Gunners are now among the clubs retaining their interest in Bissouma. Mikel Arteta’s men have already come under fire for their questionable business in the market and poorer performances on the pitch that sees them dawdling at the rock bottom of the Premier League table heading into the international break.

Arsenal’s decision to give Granit Xhaka another chance is turning out to be a mistake once again. As such, many fans believe it is time to bring in another quality midfielder in the shape of Bissouma.

The call to sign a new midfielder was even more intense in the Manchester United camp this summer. Although the Red Devils had done excellent business to snap up Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and most recently, Cristiano Ronaldo, the fans have come out strongly for their failure to sign a proper upgrade over Fred and Scott McTominay.

Bissouma is now being courted as a potential option, should the “McFred” duo fail to step up their game during the first half of the campaign. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team could face stiff competition from Liverpool, who had made only one notable move in the market by bringing in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

The Reds could enter the market for the Brighton midfielder as well, especially given the fact that they have not signed a proper replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, after his switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

While the presence of quality midfield options like Fabinho, Thiago and Jordan Henderson certainly helps, it will be essential for Liverpool to avoid the injury crisis that plagued them last season and it appears if Jurgen Klopp does get unlucky once again, Bissouma could emerge as the number one option in the January transfer window.

It will certainly be interesting to see if any of the three Premier League giants do end up making a move for Bissouma come January or decide to wait till the summer to try and sign him.
