Everton are reportedly preparing a fresh bid for Canadian sensation Daniel Jebbison after seeing a £5 million offer immediately rejected by Sheffield United.

According to an exclusive report by The Athletic, Everton  are very keen on signing Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison and are poised to make a fresh bid to bring the teen prospect to the Goodison Park before the transfer deadline.

The Blades are understood to have rejected a £5 million offer with add-ons from Everton earlier this week, but this is not supposed to be the end of the story. It is difficult to imagine the youngster staying at Bramall Lane by the closure of the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old has certainly wowed the Everton recruiting hierarchy, as well as the Toffees manager Rafael Benitez, who have become ardent admirers of his potential, and have been studying recordings of the striker and believe he can be nurtured even further.

The Blades are keen to keep hold of their young striker as they don’t want to repeat the same mistake as they did back in 2016 when they sold Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Everton for just £1.5 million. Calvert-Lewin is now one of the deadliest strikers in the Premier League, leading the line for Everton and a full England international.

Jebbison is seen as a greater potential than Calvert-Lewin among the Blades coaching staff. This has solidified their opinion on the player and not willing to part-ways permanently with him instead, they are preparing to loan out the Canadian with several League One clubs, including Sunderland and Burton Albion, eager to get their hands on him.

Jebbison joined Sheffield United in 2018, shifting from Canada to England along with his family. After quickly rising through the club’s levels, the teen prodigy got his Blades debut late in the 2019/20 season. He has made quite an impact in the five games he has played for the club, in which he scored a fairytale goal on his Premier League debut; he ended the Blades dismal top-flight campaign on a positive note.

Despite his lack of experience, scouts believe Jebbison has what it takes to be a success in the Premier League, and he has grabbed the attention of Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Leeds United, among others.

Adding the youngster to their ranks makes sense for the Toffees; he is the one they can nurture and can benefit exponentially in tje future. Jebbison can also be a backup to Calvert-Lewin. Apart from that, Benitez has an excellent track record in building target-man forwards and getting the best out of them; Fernando Torres, Mista, Salomon Rondon, to name a few.

What now remains to be seen is whether Everton can seal the deal for the Canadian sensation.
