Liverpool are now involved in a three-way battle with Chelsea and Manchester United in the pursuit of Eduardo Camavinga.

According to a recent report from 90 Min, Rennes are prepared to sanction the sale of Eduardo Camavinga this summer. The highly-rated midfielder is currently in the final year of his contract that expires at the end of the season. A host of clubs have already targeted the youngster, including Premier League trio Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

The report doesn’t disclose the exact valuation of Camavinga, but earlier speculations had suggested a fee of around €50 million for clubs to secure the services of the player. The Ligue 1 giants, though, may have to settle for less as we head towards the final week of the transfer window and knowing the fact that they have to lose him for free next summer.

The Premier League appears to be a likely destination for Camavinga, who had been linked with a move to Manchester United for the majority of the transfer window. Although the club have since signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, they are open to signing a new midfielder, having been linked with a move for Ruben Neves.

Liverpool, too, are open to signing a midfielder. The Reds have received stark criticism from fans for not being active enough in the market. Jurgen Klopp, though, is intent on replacing the departed Gini Wijnaldum, with Camavinga appearing to be an excellent option due to his ability to drive forward with the ball.

Lastly, it is Chelsea who are also exploring the possibility of signing the Frenchman. The Blues haven’t signed too many players in the summer, but the acquisition of Romelu Lukaku remains an eye-catching investment.

Camavinga could be the next big coup for Thomas Tuchel, who is already quite keen on strengthening his ranks in the middle of the park. The youngster should be an ideal upgrade over Mateo Kovacic and provide competition for the Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.

Camavinga, though, may personally favour a move to Manchester United or Liverpool as they can offer prospects for him in the first-team. The teenage sensation, however, may even end up elsewhere, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also interested in his services.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for this exciting 18-year-old this summer. An exit from Rennes, however, seems a strong possibility as things stand.
