Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly submitted their offer to sign 22-year-old midfielder Weston McKennie, with Tanguy Ndombele made a part of the deal.

According to a report by Italian publication Tuttosport, Tottenham Hotspur appear to be serious about signing Weston McKennie before the summer transfer window slams shut. The Premier League heavyweights have made a proposal wherein Tanguy Ndombele will be a part of the deal to sign the 22-year-old midfielder from Serie A giants Juventus.

Weston McKennie joined Juventus from Schalke last summer on loan before having his move being made permanent this year. 2020/21 proved to be a roller-coaster of a season at the Allianz Stadium for the USMNT international, who produced some stellar performances as well as those that have left a lot to be desired.

To date, the 22-year-old midfielder has turned out 46 times for the Serie A heavyweights, chipping in with six goals and three assists in the process. However, despite blowing hot and cold at Juventus, there is no shortage of interest in McKennie, with Tottenham Hotspur among his suitors this summer.

Tottenham are believed to be in the market for a midfielder this summer as they look to sign a solid partner for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg heading into the long-term future. While Oliver Skipp has been quite impressive in the chances afforded to him, it is important to note that there is a dearth of quality beyond him.

In addition, Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele are facing an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while Moussa Sissoko is on the wrong side of 30. As a result, it is clear that Spurs can do with the addition of a midfielder, with McKennie emerging on their radar.

Tottenham have now made their bid for the USMNT midfielder as well, with Ndombele being offered in a part-exchange deal to swoop him away from the Serie A giants. Ndombele has indeed been heavily linked with a summer exit from the north London club, with Barcelona and Real Madrid among those initially linked with him.

However, with the French midfielder now being included as part of the deal to sign McKennie, it remains to be seen if Fabio Paratici can succeed with such an offer. Bayern Munich are also showing an interest in the 22-year-old and it remains to be seen if Tottenham can somehow manage to land him ahead of the other suitors.

Not a chance we want him.

Thumbs down on this one. Average player otherwise Juventus would keep him. Ndombele a much better player, probably just needs a kick up the ……. We’ve seen what he is capable of playing.
