Mikel Arteta expects more business to be done in the last week of the window as Arsenal eye a Hector Bellerin – Kieran Trippier swap deal with Atletico Madrid.

According to Football.London, Arsenal are expected to conduct more business before the transfer window ends with a few incomings and many outgoings likely. Mikel Arteta has a few players at his disposal to sell and is eyeing a swap deal with Atletico Madrid involving Hector Bellerin and Kieran Trippier.

Arsenal completed two more signings on Friday, adding to the three players who already arrived during this window. They signed Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares earlier in the window and have acquired a goalkeeper after signing Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United in a dead reaching £30 million.

They also addressed their creative midfielder problem by signing Martin Odegaard in a £30 million permanent transfer after the Norwegian spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates. Those signings have taken Arsenal’s spending to around £129 million, the highest in Europe and the Premier League so far.

However, there are suggestions more business could be conducted before the month’s end, with many players that the club are willing to offload. Sead Kolasinac, Reiss Nelson, Ainsley-Maitland Niles, Lucas Torreira, and Bellerin are all available for transfers; the Gunners want to sell them and balance the books somewhat.

Bellerin has cut an unhappy figure at the club and has already told Arsenal his desire to leave. However, there have been no offers forthcoming for the Spaniard, as the club work hard towards finding a solution for a player with two years left on his deal at the Emirates.

The club are reportedly willing to rekindle their interest in Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier and offer a swap deal, with Bellerin going the other way. The trade details are still clouded, and there are question marks over the possibility of such a move happening. Trippier, like Bellerin, also has two years left on his contract.

Recently Atletico suggested that clubs pay his €60 million release clause to sign him as the La Liga champions shut the door on any possible negotiations. However, Arsenal hope to take advantage of Bellerin’s situation and Atletico’s reported interest in the Spaniard to follow up on a deal.

Both the players have been important performers for their respective sides, and in hindsight, they could be good additions through a swap deal. However, with so little time left in the window, things have to move fast to agree. Will Atletico agree to such a swap deal, despite their liking for Bellerin?
