Tottenham Hotspur are looking to step up their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic, with the Fiorentina striker valued at around £51 million.

According to Michael Bridge, as relayed by Transfer Market Web, Tottenham Hotspur are set to meet the agents of Dusan Vlahovic within the coming days. They are also expected to hold talks with the club’s representatives, hoping to reach an agreement over the potential transfer this summer.

Currently employed by Fiorentina, Vlahovic has emerged as one of Spurs’ top targets this month, with new coach Nuno Espirito Santo determined to sign a new forward. The Serb is valued at around £51 million, following a breakthrough campaign in Serie A last season.

A product of the Partizan youth academy, Vlahovic had initially joined Fiorentina back in 2018 for a low-money sum. The 21-year-old forward has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence since, mustering 84 competitive appearances for the club in just three years.

Vlahovic made his actual breakthrough last season, scoring a total of 21 goals in 37 matches. He emerged as one of Serie A’s top goalscorers, alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku, who is reportedly on the verge of a move to another London club in Chelsea.

Tottenham’s interest in Vlahovic stems from the uncertainty around the future of Harry Kane. The Englishman is certainly unhappy over the lack of success at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and his departure is sure to create a massive void in the attacking department.

New coach Nuno Espirito Santo is open to using Son Heung-min as his main forward, but he wants the option of employing two forwards in his setup. As such, he is eyeing a move for Vlahovic, whose imposing 1.90m figure, combined with his aerial and physical prowess, should make him an excellent partner for a more technical and speedy Son.

The 21-year-old is not the only option for Tottenham, however, with the club also reportedly keeping an eye on Lautaro Martinez. The Inter Milan forward is facing an uncertain future in Milan due to the club’s financial instability that may ultimately force them to cash in on the Argentine this summer.

Lautaro is heavily courted by Tottenham’s cross-town rivals Arsenal, but the Lilywhites are certainly in a more financially advantageous position to broker a deal. However, their pursuit of the forward may ultimately rely on the future of Kane, who remains a target for Manchester City this summer, although it also remains to be seen if they are ready to pay £51 million to land Vlahovic.

We need to get this deal done, keep Harry Kane and let Vlahovic learn from the best. They are so similar I convinced that it would be the best for Vlahovic to train day in day out with Harry.
