Leeds United have reportedly turned their attention towards 27-year-old Turkish midfielder Okay Yokuslu, who could leave Celta Vigo this summer.

According to a report by Transfer Market Web, Leeds United are interested in signing Okay Yokuslu from Celta Vigo in the summer transfer window. The 27-year-old Turkish midfielder is also the subject of interest from Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers and could leave Celta Vigo.

Okay Yokuslu joined Celta Vigo from Trabzonspor in the summer of 2018 and enjoyed a couple of solid campaigns after making his way to the La Liga club. However, 2020/21 was a difficult season for the Turkish international, who struggled to be a regular at the Balaidos before being loaned out to West Bromwich Albion for the second half of the campaign.

At the Hawthorns, the 27-year-old did not enjoy himself a whole lot as the Baggies suffered another relegation. However, Yokuslu was a regular for West Brom, making 16 appearances across all competitions while chipping in with an assist. Now back in La Liga with Celta Vigo, Yokuslu’s future is up in the air, with Leeds United keen on signing him.

Leeds United have been busy in the transfer market, having already made quite a few signings this summer. The latest arrival was in the form of Kristoffer Klaesson, but a couple of positions are still left to be bolstered at Elland Road, as the Whites look to take themselves to the next level and challenge for European qualification.

Midfield is viewed as one of the priorities for Leeds as things stand and in recent weeks, they have been interested in Lewis O’Brien. The eagerness to reinforce the midfield unit makes a lot of sense as well, with Mateusz Klich having become a rotation option for Marcelo Bielsa.

So while Stuart Dallas has successfully remodeled himself as a midfielder, signing another central midfielder could do Leeds a world of good. To that end, Yokuslu is a viable target for the west Yorkshire-based club, although they face stiff competition from a couple of other Premier League clubs in his pursuit.

Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing the 27-year-old as well, with a move away from Celta Vigo likely for him. What now remains to be seen is if Leeds United can make any massive strides towards landing Yokuslu this summer or if the Turkish international heads off elsewhere.
