Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly among the clubs showing an interest in 21-year-old Portuguese international Pedro Neto this summer.

According to a report by 90 min, Wolverhampton Wanderers are open to the prospect of cashing in on Pedro Neto in the summer transfer window. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the 21-year-old Portuguese international, having already submitted an enquiry to sign him.

Pedro Neto joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from SC Braga in the summer of 2019 and has since progressed considerably to become a key figure for the Black Country outfit. Over the last two years, the youngster has constantly been on an upward trajectory and was enjoying a solid 2020/21 campaign before injury put paid to his participation in the campaign.

To date, the 21-year-old has made 79 appearances for Wolves while amassing a record of ten goals and 11 assists. At the same time, he has also broken into the Portuguese national setup, which points towards the progress he has been making in the Premier League. Suffice to say, Neto has made an impression on some of the bigger clubs in Europe, with Liverpool and Tottenham showing an interest in him.

Liverpool appear to be dipping their toes in the transfer market for a wide attacker this summer amid Xherdan Shaqiri’s uncertain future at Anfield. While Shaqiri’s potential departure will beget a replacement, the Reds also need enough cover for when Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah embark for the Africa Cup of Nations at the turn of the year, and so, Jarrod Bowen is one of several wingers to be linked with Liverpool.

Pedro Neto is also a viable target for the Merseyside club, who has previously shown an interest in his Wolves teammates, Adama Traore. Tottenham, on the other hand, seem to be ready to part ways with Lucas Moura in the summer transfer window.

Even if the Brazilian stays put at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, his inconsistencies coupled with that of Steven Bergwijn warrant the addition of a wide forward. While another inconsistent player in Erik Lamela is set for a summer departure, with Bryan Gil arriving in his stead, Spurs will need to sign another wide man, which explains their recent interest in Jesus Corona, with Neto now on their radar as well.

The report claims that Liverpool and Tottenham, along with Juventus, have all submitted their respective enquiries for the 21-year-old. However, after playing a key role in the arrival of Francisco Trincao on loan from Barcelona, it is unlikely that he will want to leave Wolves this summer.

Having said that, though, Wolves are open to the prospect of parting ways with the Portuguese international in case push comes to shove. What now remains to be seen is if Liverpool and Tottenham – or Juventus for that matter – produce a tempting offer for Pedro Neto or if he remains at the Molineux beyond the summer.
