Liverpool have emerged as the front-runners in the pursuit of Newcastle United whizkid Bobby Clark, who is also courted by Chelsea and Manchester United.

According to Daily Mail, Liverpool are in the driver’s seat in pursuit of Bobby Clark. The Newcastle United youngster is highly tipped to make the jump to a bigger club after making quite an impression in the youth level of football. He has already attracted some of the biggest clubs in England, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham.

However, it is Liverpool who have moved ahead of their rivals and are the favourites to secure the services of Clark. It appears the Reds are willing to allow youngsters to make themselves heard in the first-team next season, which has played a key factor in convincing the 16-year-old to opt for the club this summer.

A midfielder by trade, Clark is currently a part of the Newcastle youth setup. But he made his Under-18 debut with the Magpies in September 2019, at the age of just 14. He has since featured regularly for the club’s youth teams and the England Under-16 side. And with more and more young players making Premier League breakthroughs in recent years, the Newcastle whizkid is ready to take the next step in his career.

The potential departure from Bobby Clark should serve as a massive blow for the Magpies, who are in the market for a new midfielder this summer. They have been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher but face competition from Leeds United.

As for Liverpool, the addition of Clark should significantly revamp their youth side that has lost out on many talented players in recent years. One of their most gifted players in the academy in Ethan Ennis is already tipped to join Manchester United in the summer, while the likes of Yasser Larouci and Rhian Brewster, among many others, have not had much luck making a breakthrough into the senior side.

Clark will be hoping to break that chain by quickly moving up the ranks in the Liverpool youth setup. But his other suitors in Chelsea and Manchester United are not bad options by any means, as both clubs have had more success in integrating young players into their starting eleven in recent seasons.

However, it is fair to point out that Jurgen Klopp is more than capable of nurturing young talents, and Liverpool’s shifting policy towards older players should bode well for young talents like Bobby Clark in the future.
