Arsenal are interested in central defender Evan N’Dicka and could make a future move for the 21-year-old.

According to Sport Witness, Arsenal are showing an interest in Evan N’Dicka. The Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back has been a solid performer for the Bundesliga side and could cost around €30 million if the Gunners make an approach.

Arsenal started off the current transfer window looking at players suitable for various positions. Central defence, in particular, wasn’t thought of as a priority area, but the Gunners did end up agreeing a £50 million deal with Brighton for defender Ben White. In general, the North London side are well-stocked at the back.

Gabriel, Pablo Mari, Rob Holding and now White are all possibly available when the season starts, and there isn’t an immediate requirement to bring in new players. The need to sign White emerged when Mikel Arteta decided to send young French defender William Saliba out on another loan spell to develop further.

Saliba joined Marseille on a season-long loan deal and is expected to play at the Emirates next season. However, Arteta could strengthen the left side of the central defence with the long-term future in his mind. Evan N’Dicka’s name is now linked, and it could be that a future move might be on the cards.

It would be unrealistic for Arsenal to spend around €30 million of their tight transfer budget on a prospect. Frankfurt are demanding that amount considering his performances in the Bundesliga since signing up back in 2018. The centre-back has played over 20 games in each of his last three seasons, becoming a key member.

Arsenal’s interest first stemmed after last January, with Arteta drawing up his plans for the current window. Tottenham were also considering an approach but have resorted to targeting other players such as Atalanta’s Cristian Romero and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Arsenal could keep their interest strong in N’Dicka, and with two years left on his deal, he could be available at a lower price next summer. However, if he happens to sign a new contract with Frankfurt, the price could go significantly up. N’Dicka could be a player for the future at Arsenal and probably replace Pablo Mari.
