Liverpool are reportedly ready to rival AC Milan in pursuit of 19-year-old Brazilian whizkid Kaio Jorge, valued at around €10 million.

A recent report from Stop & Goal has offered an update on the situation of Kaio Jorge. The 19-year-old Santos whizkid has emerged as a target for many clubs across Europe, with AC Milan tipped as the favourites.

However,  the Rossoneri‘s pursuit of the attacker has been dealt with a potential blow as Liverpool have now joined the race to secure his services. It appears Kaio has emerged as an ideal option for Jurgen Klopp, with the Premier League giants now keen on hijacking Milan’s move for the Brazilian prodigy.

Stemming from an academy that has produced footballing superstars like Pepe, Neymar and Robinho, the expectation has been immense on Kaio Jorge, ever since his breakthrough in the top-flight. But the youngster has lived up to the hype so far, already featuring in 75 competitive matches for Santos, scoring 15 goals.

His numbers might seem underwhelming compared to the likes of Neymar and Robinho, but Kaio is indeed one of the biggest gems in Brazil at the moment. A centre-forward by trade, the 19-year-old has turned many heads with his technical quality on the ball and the ability to move past players at will.

Milan have been very keen on securing the services of the Brazilian, despite completing the capture of Olivier Giroud. It appears the youngster has been identified as the potential face of the Rossoneri attack in the future, though Liverpool’s recent interest may hinder such plans.

Braced for a busy summer ahead, the Reds have already shown a lot of ambition in the market so far. Liverpool are particularly desperate to bolster their attacking options, having been linked with a move Watford sensation Ismaila Sarr recently, as well as Wolves’ Adama Traore.

However, in Kaio, the Merseyside giants could land themselves a raw talent who has the potential to become one of the best in their attack. His numbers at Santos are not particularly eye-catching, but the 19-year-old could indeed be that missing link that connects Liverpool’s other dynamic forwards like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.

That said, Klopp has not had a lot of success in integrating young attackers into the first-team in recent years. Not to mention, Liverpool might need to offload their unwanted players before they can make space for Kaio, who himself is not only a target for Milan but also Arsenal and Chelsea this summer.
