West Ham United are reportedly entering the race for Liverpool target Adama Traore as David Moyes wants an elite attacker to join his squad.

According to Football Insider, David Moyes wants a top-quality attacker in place for next season, with Adama Traore a target. The Wolves forward is attracting plenty of interest, with Liverpool and Chelsea already showing interest, although West Ham could become an attractive option.

West Ham finished last season in the Europa League positions after an impressive league campaign. David Moyes wants to improve his team in several areas and believes an attacking addition is a must. Adama Traore is, therefore, linked with a move to the London Stadium. The Spanish winger might be available this summer and already has plenty of suitors.

Liverpool are thought to be keen on the Spaniard, with Jurgen Klopp seeking a pacey ball carrier to add spark to an already sturdy-looking attacking lineup. Traore could also benefit from the presence of Diogo Jota, who signed for the Merseysiders last summer and has been impressive since.

The problem, however, for Liverpool would be the transfer fee Wolves might demand. Traore still has two years left on his contract. The Midlands club have already offered a new deal, which he has stalled on signing. Wolves now have two choices – to either cash in or see his value plummet next summer.

Liverpool are willing to offer around half of Wolves’ £50 million valuation of Traore. Right now, the Reds could have the upper hand, although if another club makes a better offer to Wolves, their stance might change. West Ham could be that team, as Moyes evaluates attacking targets of his liking.

Traore has a different profile to the current attackers at West Ham. Moyes is thought to target Traore to play in his usual wing role but would like to transform him into more of a centre-forward. The West Ham manager also wants to provide support and competition to Michail Antonio. The Hammers also remain interested in Tammy Abraham, but a deal might be difficult.

Traore could also play alongside Antonio and provide a different attacking dimension in Moyes’s current setup. The 25-year-old could garner regular game-time at West Ham, while that prospect might be more challenging at Liverpool.

While West Ham are showing keen interest, an offer is yet to arrive. The Hammers could make an imminent bid if they feel they can get the player, although their price will have to be competitive. If the money is right, Wolves will certainly cash in below their asking price, and Traore could improve their attack immensely, although it remains to be seen if Liverpool beat them to his signature.
