Tottenham have reportedly readied an offer up to €27 million to sign 25-year-old Portuguese midfielder Daniel Podence from Wolves this summer.

According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida, Daniel Podence is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur over a move in the summer transfer window. Spurs are prepared to offer between €25 million and €27 million to swoop the 25-year-old Portuguese forward away from fellow Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Daniel Podence joined Wolves from Olympiacos in January 2020 and has since progressed considerably at the Molineux. While he is now a regular in the first-team setup for the West Midlands club, 2020/21 proved to be a difficult season for the 25-year-old, who was in and out of the side due to his battles with a couple of injuries, which restricted him to just 24 Premier League appearances, with only three goals and two assists to show for his efforts.

Podence, though, appears to still be quite highly rated within the Premier League while retaining a strong position in Wolves’ first-team squad. Heading into the summer transfer window, the Portuguese forward is attracting a fair bit of attention as well, with Tottenham Hotspur keen on signing him ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The interest from Tottenham is interesting, seeing as Nuno Espirito Santo has the likes of Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn at his disposal in addition to Son Heung-min, who is expected to remain a mainstay in attack. While the aforementioned trio has been highly inconsistent at Spurs, they are yet to feature under the Portuguese tactician, although that has not stopped the club from being linked with several wide men, like Lorenzo Insigne.

Nevertheless, Podence could potentially be a viable target for Tottenham, whose latest target to play out wide is Luis Diaz. The north Londoners are seemingly serious about signing the 25-year-old as well, with Pedro Almeida claiming that a bid in the region of €25 million and €27 million is being formulated by the club.

What now remains to be seen is if Tottenham can succeed with an opening offer for Podence and whether Wolves are even willing to sanction a sale. In addition, Podence’s stance on a potential switch across England is also a mystery as things stand.

For now, what remains certain is that Spurs are ready to pay up to €27 million to secure the services of the Portuguese forward and it will be interesting to see if a summer move can see the light of the day.

And yet Nuno was bragging that he has a quality squad, so why are they being associated with ours, truth is Nuno you have two quality players at spurs – diver Kane and Son the rest are average, you dropped a clanger joining an average club that are no bigger than us, they just fink they are!
