Real Madrid have reportedly secured the services of Barcelona prodigy Jaume Jardi, who will join the Castilla side for the 2021/22 season.

As confirmed by Madrid Zone, Real Madrid have signed Jaume Jardi from Barcelona. The 19-year-old Spanish prodigy was the captain of the Blaugrana’s under-19 side last season and has now made his way to the Real Madrid Castilla side for the 2021/22 season.

Jaume Jardi joined Barcelona from CF Reus Deportiu in July 2016 and subsequently progressed through the ranks rapidly, establishing himself as one of the rising stars of the club’s famed La Masia academy. Such was the progress he made that he was installed as the captain of the under-19 side last season.

The top scorer for Barcelona Juvenil A in 2019/20, the 19-year-old prodigy was not as prolific last term but still managed a return of nine goals and three assists. However, heading into the summer transfer window, Jardi was up for grabs after refusing to renew his deal with Barcelona. And his next destination soon enough appeared to be Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have been busy in the summer transfer window, as far as bolstering their youth teams as well as the Castilla side is concerned. Most recently, Los Blancos snapped up Javier Villar, who has joined the club’s Juvenil A outfit ahead of the 2021/22 season.

As far as Real Madrid Castilla are concerned, their first summer arrival was Rafa Llorente, who joined from Las Rozas. The second signing of the summer transfer window for Raul’s side is yet another winger, with Jaume Jardi making his way to the club following the expiration of his deal with Barcelona.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have famously duelled in the transfer market for several prodigies over the years, right from the time when Neymar joined the Catalan giants before Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes snubbed Barcelona to join Real Madrid. As far as their youth wings are concerned, Real Madrid are reportedly set to beat Barcelona to Bryan Bugarin.

The two powerhouses of Spanish football are also going head-to-head in pursuit of Portuguese whizkid Herculano Nabian. This time around, though, Real Madrid have gone straight at Barcelona for their latest summer arrival, with Jardi now set to play under the tutelage of Raul in the 2021/22 season.
