Kurt Zouma is attracting interest from Premier League sides Tottenham and Everton as he could be among the high profile players to exit Chelsea this summer.

According to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard, Kurt Zouma could leave Chelsea this summer and has plenty of options within the Premier League to consider. Among those clubs are Everton and Tottenham, interested in taking the defender for next season.

Chelsea will make necessary changes to their playing squad on the back of winning the Champions League to make it more competitive on all fronts. The implication could mean exits for several high profile stars within the side. Like Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud, who are expected to leave, the Blues could add Zouma’s name to that list.

Zouma made 36 appearances in all competition for Chelsea last season but was still not a regular in the second half of the season after Thomas Tuchel took over. The likes of Andres Christiansen, Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva are considered important for the central position, meaning Zouma could be expendable.

Additionally, Chelsea are thought to bring in another central defender in the market, due to which Zouma could be pushed down the pecking order. The Blues have shown a strong interest in Bayern’s Niklas Sule while Sergio Ramos was also on their radar before he ended up signing for Paris Saint-Germain.

Zouma has two years left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge. A loan with an option or obligation to buy might work out, but Chelsea will want to sell him permanently. Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing the Frenchman to Roma but only on loan, but if Zouma decides to stay in England, he has plenty of options.

New Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has shown interest in the past and could persuade his club to snap up Zouma. Staying in London would be ideal for the defender, but Chelsea are unlikely to do business with Spurs, given their rivalry in the Premier League. The other option could be Everton.

Julien Maynard also suggested in his tweet that Zouma has already rejected an offer from Wolves. That could boost Everton’s chances, and under new manager Rafa Benitez, the Merseysiders could prove to be an attractive prospect for the French defender.

Everton are also looking at central defensive options, and Zouma has played at Goodison Park before on loan. He was comfortable there and knows most of the team members. Chelsea, meanwhile, will command a decent transfer fee for the defender, something the Toffees could certainly afford to pay as they eye a rebuild under Benitez.
