Barcelona are reportedly serious about re-signing 23-year-old Spanish international Dani Olmo and are preparing their offer for RB Leipzig.

According to a report by Spanish outlet El Gol Digital, Barcelona are keen on re-signing Dani Olmo in the summer transfer window. The Catalan giants are readying an offer for RB Leipzig, with as many as three players set to be made available for the Bundesliga giants to snap up in exchange for the 23-year-old Spanish international.

Dani Olmo has built quite a career for himself since taking the brave decision to leave Barcelona to join Dinamo Zagreb at the nascent age of 16. After progressing considerably in Croatia, the Spanish international joined RB Leipzig in January 2020 and has continued his fine development. To date, the 23-year-old has raked in 61 appearances for Leipzig, chipping in with 12 goals and 13 assists.

At the same time, Olmo has become a full-fledged Spanish international and was one of the more valiant performers in defeat to Italy in the UEFA Euro 2020 semi-finals this week. His progress has unsurprisingly caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, with La Liga royalty in Real Madrid and Barcelona particularly showing an interest.

In fact, it has been suggested that Real Madrid monitored Olmo at the European Championship, with Barcelona also keen on re-signing him. And the interest from Barcelona is well-advised as well, following Francisco Trincao’s loan move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With Ousmane Dembele also facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou, the Blaugrana could need to bolster their attacking unit despite signing Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero. Olmo is certainly a viable target, considering he can play as a winger equally adeptly as he does through the central areas.

Apart from Olmo, Barcelona have been linked with several other attacking options, including Lorenzo Insigne, Mikkel Damsgaard and others. However, it looks like Barcelona are set to make a big move for Olmo ahead of the other options, with an offer of a part-exchange deal being readied.

Such a proposal will offer RB Leipzig the chance to sign Martin Braithwaite, Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti. The trio has already been linked with a potential summer exit from Camp Nou, and it remains to be seen if Leipzig are open to the prospect of receiving them as part of the deal that sees one of their best players join Barcelona.

For now, it looks like Barcelona are intent on re-signing Dani Olmo, with a part-exchange deal being prepared to be tabled to RB Leipzig. What now remains to be seen is if the Catalan giants end up securing the services of the 23-year-old Spanish international with their bid or if they are forced to make an alternative offer instead.
