Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly interested in Adam Hlozek and are closely monitoring the 18-year-old whizkid, valued at around €20 million by Sparta Praha.

According to reputed Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Adam Hlozek is the subject of interest from a myriad of clubs across Europe heading into the summer transfer window. Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping tabs on the 18-year-old Czech whizkid, who is valued at around €20 million by Sparta Praha.

Adam Hlozek arrived at Sparta Praha as a 12-year-old nearly a decade ago before subsequently making swift progress in the Czech club’s youth setup before making the grade in the first-team squad in 2018, aged just 16. The prodigious attacker also made history that year when he became the youngest Sparta player to appear in a league match at 16 years, 3 months and 16 days.

Since then, the teenage whizkid has grown leaps and bounds, becoming a regular fixture for the Maroons. And in the 2020/21 season, he missed just two games when fit and available, although a long-term injury restricted him to just 23 appearances across all competitions. His progress has not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal and Liverpool showing an interest in him.

Arsenal could be forced to enter the transfer market for at least one attacking reinforcement this summer owing to the struggles of Willian in his maiden campaign at the Emirates. With the veteran Brazilian winger being tipped for a summer exit, the Gunners could well be eyeing a replacement, but the uncertain futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah has put them in an even more precarious situation.

To that end, Arsenal have been linked with Manchester City forwards Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez for the wide areas, while Andre Silva is a target to bolster the centre-forward berth. And Hlozek is a viable target for Arsenal as well, although Liverpool are providing stiff competition to the north Londoners for the 18-year-old, who is valued at around €20 million by Sparta Praha.

The interest from Liverpool is hardly surprising, seeing as Roberto Firmino was underwhelming in the season gone by and as was Sadio Mane. With Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri likely to call it quits at Anfield, Liverpool might need to bolster their attack anyway, which is why signing someone like Hlozek makes sense as he can be groomed to take over from Firmino when the time is right.

To that end, Liverpool seem to have stepped up their efforts to sign the Czech whizkid. Apart from the Reds and Arsenal, Lazio and West Ham United are also hot on the 18-year-old’s trails, with the quartet currently keeping tabs on him, with Sparta Praha demanding up to €20 million for him.

What now remains to be seen is if Arsenal and Liverpool launch the offensive for Hlozek in this summer’s transfer window. For now, the Premier League heavyweights are closely monitoring the teenage prodigy, who has been quite impressive lately, with 15 goals and 9 assists in 23 outings for Sparta Praha.
