Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in Sparta Prague starlet Adam Hlozek who has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom in the Czech Republic.

According to a report from Football insider, Premier League bigwigs Liverpool are set to intensify their pursuit of Sparta Prague forward Adam Hlozek in the ongoing summer transfer window.

A product of the Sparta Prague youth academy, Hlozek made his first-team debut back in 2018 at the age of just 16 and has gradually grown into a first-team regular with the Czech giants. Till date, the 18-year-old striker has made 85 senior appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals and setting up 21 more.

The 2020/21 was one of Hlozek’s best in his short career as the young forward found the back of the net on 15 occasions and assisted nine more goals for his teammates from just 23 appearances across all competitions. The youngster’s form saw him break into the Czech Repbulic national team in September last year and has since gone on to make four appearances for the side.

Hlozek’s rapid rise to prominence in his homeland has now alerted a number of clubs across Europe, with Liverpool being at the forefront of the interest in the 18-year-old. The Merseyside giants are in the market for attacking reinforcements following a campaign that saw the likes of Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane not perform at the expected level.

Throw in the doubts surrounding the futures of the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Takumi Minamino as well as Divock Origi, it only makes sense that Jurgen Klopp & co. stock up their options in the final third. To that end, they have been linked with a number of players like Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic and Alexander Isak of Real Sociedad, among others.

Now, Hlozek has also emerged as a viable target for Liverpool, with the Reds now set to ramp up their pursuit of the Czech Republic international. The report adds that Klopp’s team hasn’t set aside a big budget for the signing of a new centre-forward and the 18-year-old could fit the profile that they are looking for, with the Sparta Prague prodigy also likely to cost within a reasonable €15-€20 million range.

Hlozek, though, is also attracting interest from Liverpool’s Premier League rivals West Ham United and Serie A bigwigs AC Milan as well. It now remains to be seen if the Merseysiders are able to beat their competitors to the signing of the 18-year-old international this summer.
