Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah has been offered to fellow Premier League club Leeds United, with the Gunners looking to recoup £20 million for the striker.

According to a report from Football Insider, Leeds United have been handed the opportunity to sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window, with the Gunners looking to offload the centre-forward.

Nketiah spent the majority of his youth football days at the Chelsea academy, before making the switch to Arsenal’s youth setup in 2015. Two years later, the striker made his first-team debut for the north London giants, in a UEFA Europa League group stage clash against BATE Borisov. Since then, he has gone on to make 65 senior appearances, scoring 13 goals in the process.

Despite showing great potential, Nketiah hasn’t been able to make the step up to the next level, while the presence of the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has also meant that game-time has come at a premium for the 22-year-old. Indeed, the Englishman featured just 29 times in the season gone by, starting as few as four league outings.

With Arsenal in for a major squad overhaul this summer following a disappointing season that ended with them failing to secure European football for next term, several players are expected to be on their way out. And Nketiah could be one among them, along with strike partner Lacazette, given that his contract runs out in the summer of 2022.

And, it is now being claimed that the 22-year-old’s services have been offered to Arsenal’s fellow Premier League club Leeds United. The Whites are no strangers to Nketiah’s ability as they had signed him on loan during the 2019/20 campaign, only for the stint to be cut short by Arsenal in January last year due to the lack of game-time.

During his time at Elland Road, Nketiah featured 19 times across all competitions scoring five goals and setting up one more. Given as Leeds do not have quality cover in the centre-forward slot for star man Patrick Bamford, a move for a new striker would make a lot of sense. To that end, Nketiah could be an option for them this summer, with the Englishman being offered to the club.

Arsenal, as per the report, are demanding a transfer fee of £20 million for the young forward. It has previously been claimed that newly-promoted Premier League Watford are also interested in signing Nketiah this summer. It now remains to be seen as to where the Englishman ends up, but his time at the Emirates certainly seems to be drawing to a close.

He can’t adapt to the Leeds style of play- and why would we waste money when we score nearly each game? soon our defence will be back to being solid.
