Manchester United outcast Sergio Romero is reportedly a target for Everton and Juventus over a potential Bosman move this summer.

According to reputed English journalist Leah Smith, Everton and Juventus are interested in signing Sergio Romero on a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The Argentine is set to depart Manchester United as a free agent at the end of the ongoing season, with the two suitors already establishing contact with him.

Sergio Romero joined Manchester United from Sampdoria in the summer of 2015 and spent the subsequent half-a-decade being the understudy to David de Gea. Largely restricted to appearances in cup competitions and the Europa League, the Argentine impressed for the most part when given a chance to make his mark.

In just 61 appearances for the Red Devils, Romero has conceded a mere 27 goals while keeping 39 clean sheets. However, Romero’s time at Manchester United is coming to an end, after being rendered to the status of a mere outcast since the return of Dean Henderson from a loan spell with Sheffield United.

It was expected that Romero would call it quits at Manchester United last summer, with Everton even being linked with a late move on deadline day as well before United pulled the plug. Since then, the Argentine has been on the periphery of the first-team squad, but is set to depart Old Trafford as a free agent this summer. This has piqued the interest of Everton and Juventus.

Everton are set to lose the services of Robin Olsen, who is unlikely to join the Toffees permanently. With Jordan Pickford in need of some competition, Romero could be just the kind of player to sign, considering his experience playing for Manchester United in the Premier League.

Juventus, on the other hand, are set to see Gianluigi Buffon leave at the end of the season following his second spell at the Allianz Stadium. With Wojciech Szczesny also being linked with a potential summer exit, it is prudent for Juventus to keep their options open, with Romero a viable target.

In fact, Everton and Juventus have both already established contact with Sergio Romero, meaning a move could be in the offing once he leaves Manchester United. In addition, AS Roma, where ex-Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will be in-charge next season onwards, are also interested and it remains to be seen where Romero heads off to this summer on a Bosman move.
