Naby Keita has emerged as a shock target for Leicester City and Crystal Palace, with the Liverpool midfielder also being courted by Atletico Madrid.

According to Guinean footballing magazine, Football Factory, Naby Keita’s days at Anfield could soon be over, with Liverpool open to offloading the midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window. It has put Crystal Palace and Leicester City on red alert, with the Premier League duo contacting the Reds over a possible move.

Atletico Madrid, too, have registered an interest in Keita, who is held in high regards by Diego Simeone. The Argentine, in fact, considers him to be an ideal solution, as Los Colchoneros brace themselves for a midfield overhaul that could see the departure of Manchester United and Barcelona target Saul Niguez.

Keita has had a difficult spell at Anfield since joining Liverpool in 2018. His Premier League career has been hampered by injuries while the latest addition of Thiago Alcantara, coupled with the emergence of Curtis Jones has left him trailing down the pecking order.

The Guinean international has been involved in ten matches in the ongoing Premier League campaign, so it is hardly surprising to see Liverpool being open to the midfielder’s potential departure in the summer, despite the fact that they are also set to lose out on Georginio Wijnaldum – a shock Bayern Munich target.

The Reds, though, are reportedly looking at options in the market and have been linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria among many others. For Keita, a move away from Liverpool makes sense, as the midfielder hopes to revive his career after three forgettable years at Anfield.

A transfer to Leicester City, in particular, could raise a lot of eyebrows, as the Foxes have steadily established as one of England’s top clubs over the past five years, and could use someone like him in their ranks.

A midfield partnership between Youri Tielemans and Naby Keita could certainly be an exciting prospect for fans next season. His sale, on the other hand, could serve as a financial boost for Liverpool, as they continue their search for not only a midfielder but also attackers in the upcoming summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see how much the Reds demand for the services of Keita. The midfielder was signed for a fee of €60 million, so Liverpool will be keen on recouping a considerable of that amount, given the fact that the player is still just 26 and could become a prospect for any side in Europe.
