Real Madrid have reportedly turned their attention towards Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic, who has a €40 million price tag.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid are weighing up a move for Dusan Vlahovic heading into the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old Serbian striker, viewed as a potential economical alternative to Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, is valued by Serie A outfit Fiorentina at around €40 million.
Vlahovic joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2018 and has since gone about establishing himself as a key figure for La Viola. However, it is only in the ongoing campaign that the young forward has not only become a mainstay in attack for the club but take Italian football by storm.
The Serbian international has a fantastic record of 19 goals and 2 assists in 33 Serie A appearances, making him one of the rising stars in Europe. Suffice to say, his exploits have sparked widespread interest in his services, with Real Madrid among the clubs that are considering a summer swoop.
The interest from Real Madrid makes a great deal of sense, considering they have been overly dependent on Karim Benzema for a few years now. The Frenchman’s backups, Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz have not been able to impress one bit and are both likely to be offloaded this summer.
With Benzema also on the wrong side of 30, it is prudent to lay down a succession plan for him, even though he seems to be better than ever before. Nevertheless, to that end, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are the preferred options to bolster the attack for Real Madrid, with the players reportedly open to a move as well.
However, following the debacle that was the European Super League, Los Blancos might find it a tad bit difficult to finance a move for either player, forcing them to look for alternatives. To that end, the likes of Andre Silva, Robert Lewandowski and a few others have been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with Vlahovic a viable target as well.

At 21, the Serb could be groomed by Karim Benzema before he is eventually ready to take over as the first-choice striker. In order to snap him up, though, Real Madrid will have to cough up €40 million, while clubs like AC Milan, AS Roma, Liverpool and Manchester United are also reportedly in his pursuit.
What will now be interesting to see is if Real Madrid are prepared to shell out €40 million to sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina, or if they continue their search for alternatives to bolster their forward ranks in the summer transfer window.
