Arsenal are ready to make a summer swoop to sign Norwich City starlet Max Aarons, who could cost around £30 million.

According to an exclusive report from 90 Min, Arsenal are intent on breathing new life into their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window, and with that in mind, they are ready to splash the cash on Max Aarons.

The Norwich City right-back has been identified as their desired replacement for Hector Bellerin, who is likely to be offloaded in the summer, as part of Mikel Arteta’s massive squad overhaul.

It appears the Spaniard has been left frustrated by Bellerin’s inconsistent performances and a noticeable dip in his fitness over the past few years. He has, in fact, fallen behind the pecking order in the current Arsenal setup, with Arteta often preferring Calum Chambers in recent weeks.

The addition of Aarons, in that regard, should serve as a breath of fresh air for the Gunners as they look to reshape their defensive unit. The young full-back is highly coveted due to his success with the Norwich City side over the past three seasons.

The 21-year-old has, in fact, notched up 128 competitive appearances for the Canaries, starring in both their promotion campaigns in 2018/19 and 2020/21 respectively while also making quite an impression in the Premier League last season.

As a result of which, Aarons was heavily linked with an exit from Norwich last summer, but a move did not materialise. This time around, the youngster will be determined to seek a big-money move and perform well in the Premier League, in an attempt to make himself an option for Gareth Southgate for next year’s FIFA World Cup.

His move to Emirates, however, could hinge on Arsenal’s luck in the transfer market. The Gunners have had difficulties in getting rid of their fringe players in the past, and offloading Bellerin, especially for their desired valuation could be a difficult ask in this current financial climate.

The Spaniard has been currently linked with a move to FC Barcelona, but it remains to be seen whether the Catalans will be too keen on paying the reported £21 million that could be imperative if Arsenal are to fund a move for the £30 million-rated Aarons in the summer.

Arsenal have also been linked with Barcelona’s Emerson Royal apart from Aarons while Brighton & Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey is also a reported target. The Norwich City man, however, seems to be the option that the Gunners seem to be favouring at the moment.

Apart from Arsenal, Aarons has also registered on the radars of a number of Premier League clubs like West Ham United, Leicester City, Manchester City, Everton as well as Crystal Palace while Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the Englishman. However, Arsenal remain confident of getting the deal over the line, although it will hinge on they are able to offload Bellerin at the end of the season.
