Inter Milan are reportedly keen on signing N’Golo Kante, with Antonio Conte eager to have a reunion with the Chelsea midfielder at San Siro.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, N’Golo Kante has once again popped up on the radar of Inter Milan ahead of the summer transfer window. Antonio Conte is keen on having a reunion with the Chelsea midfielder at San Siro, but the Frenchman will cost upwards of €60 million.

Kante has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world since arriving in England by joining Leicester City in the summer of 2015. The French international moved to Chelsea a year later after having played a pivotal role in the Foxes’ shock Premier League triumph, and went on to reproduce the goods at Stamford Bridge in his maiden campaign with the Blues.

Since then, the 30-year-old has only gone from strength to strength, even though there have been a few injury issues along the way. Till date at Chelsea, Kante has amassed 212 appearances while also chipping in with 11 goals and 10 assists. His exploits have often attracted some of the best clubs in Europe and ahead of the summer, Kante is the subject of interest from Inter Milan.

The report claims that Antonio Conte was keen on securing the services of Kante last summer as well, but Inter Milan never really approached Chelsea. Ahead of this summer’s transfer window, the French midfielder is once again desired by Conte, and the interest does make a great deal of sense.

The Inter Milan boss has a plethora of midfielders at his disposal. However, on closer inspection, it becomes clearer that most of those options do not really offer a lot of quality, with Matias Vecino and Arturo Vidal facing an uncertain future with the Serie A heavyweights, while Marcelo Brozovic has emerged on the radar of Manchester United and Real Madrid.

As a result, it is imperative for the Nerazzurri to keep their options open. And, if Brozovic does end up leaving, Kante would not only be a viable option to replace him, but also be an upgrade on the Croat. However, Inter Milan are likely to be priced out of a move for the 30-year-old, as Chelsea are likely to demand much more than the €60 million he was valued at last year.

In fact, Calciomercato add that Kane is likely to be valued quite highly following a colossal display against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League this week. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Inter Milan can find a way to swoop Kante away from Chelsea, or if he stays put at Stamford Bridge.
