Arsenal are reportedly vying with Real Madrid and Manchester United for the signature of Eduardo Camavinga this coming summer.

According to a report by Spanish publication MARCA, the race to sign Eduardo Camavinga keeps heating up, with Arsenal the latest club to be linked with the 18-year-old French prodigy. The Stade Rennais midfielder is also being tailed by Real Madrid and Manchester United, among others.

Camavinga has become one of the hottest properties in the world since making grade in the Stade Rennais first-team setup a couple of years ago, aged just 16. Since then, he has grown leaps and bounds, becoming a key figure for Rennes despite still being in his teens while also breaking into the French national side.

Suffice to say, the 18-year-old has been noticed by some of the biggest clubs in the world, who were also keen on signing him last summer before he stayed put at Roazhon Park. The ongoing campaign, though, has been a slow one for Camavinga, but his stock has still not been affected, with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal, among others interested in him.

Real Madrid have been hot on the trails of the French prodigy for over a year now, having tried to sign him last summer before a move failed to materialise. Heading into this summer’s window, though, Los Blancos’ continued interest is completely justified, with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos both on the wrong side of 30.

So, even though Federico Valverde has been touted to have a bright future at the club, the fact that Isco is set to be offloaded means Real Madrid do need to be in the market for a midfield reinforcement, especially with Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard, currently on loan at Arsenal, both facing uncertain futures. As for Manchester United, their interest is well informed as well.

Despite rumours that Paul Pogba could be willing to commit his future to the Red Devils, he continues to be linked with a possible summer exit. In addition, with Nemanja Matic well into his thirties and seemingly being phased out, a replacement needs to be sought, making Camavinga a viable target. The latest entrants in the race to sign the teenage prodigy, though, are Arsenal.

As iterated, Arsenal currently have two midfielders on loan from Real Madrid in Odegaard and Ceballos, but there are no guarantees that either can be signed permanently. Furthermore, Matteo Guendouzi is likely to be offloaded, and has even been linked with a possible switch to Chelsea.

With that in mind, someone like Camavinga could come in handy at Arsenal to provide competition to Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka. Recent reports, though, have suggested that the Frenchman is keen on joining Real Madrid, but with the Gunners and Manchester United among others emerging as rivals, the pursuit of the player has been complicated.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can beat both Manchester United and Arsenal in the race to sign Camavinga, or if either of the Premier League giants can swoop the 18-year-old wonderkid away from Rennes this coming summer.
