Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Achraf Hakimi, with an offer worth €50 million being prepared to secure his services.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Arsenal seem to have taken their first steps to secure the services of Achraf Hakimi in the summer transfer window. The Gunners are formulating a bid in the region of €50 million to swoop the Moroccan international away from Inter Milan.

Hakimi only joined Inter Milan from Real Madrid last summer, but could be on his way out of the club after spending less than a year at San Siro due to the Nerazzurri’s prevalent financial woes. In the time he has spent at the Serie A club, the 22-year-old has established himself as a key figure for Antonio Conte.

Indeed, in 34 appearances across all competitions, Hakimi has a fine return of 6 goals and as many assists, having become a mainstay in the team. However, an uncertain future borne out of Inter’s financial situation has meant that a number of potential suitors are considering a summer move. One such suitor are Arsenal.

Arsenal are in a precarious situation over the future of Hector Bellerin, who has been tipped to exit the Emirates come the summer transfer window. As a result, the Gunners have been linked with several right-backs in recent weeks, including Max Aarons, Tariq Lamptey and Hakimi.

Among the aforementioned trio, Hakimi’s potential capture would be nothing short of a coup for Arsenal, considering his immense potential and pedigree he has already shown. And, in case Mikel Arteta reverts to a 3-4-3 formation, Hakimi’s qualities would come to the fore in the best possible manner.

Either way, it looks like Arsenal are ready to press ahead with their interest in the 22-year-old by lodging an offer worth €50 million to Inter Milan. That would hand the Nerazzurri a handy profit of €10 million, although it will be interesting to see if they are even ready to accept such an offer despite their financial woes.

Nevertheless, it looks like Arsenal are intent on securing the services of the Moroccan defender in the summer and it will be interesting to see if they have their offer accepted by Inter Milan.
