Ronald Araujo is fully fit again and should start while Junior Firpo could get a rare run-out in place of Jordi Alba when Barcelona take on Huesca in La Liga.

Barcelona will be aiming to reclaim the second spot in the La Liga table when they face off against bottom feeders SD Huesca on Monday night at Camp Nou.

Leading into the game, Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has been greeted with some positive news on the injury front as Ronald Araujo is fully fit and in contention to feature. However, Gerard Pique, Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho remain unavailable for the contest while Sergi Roberto is also a major doubt.

The fully fit Araujo should slot right back into the Barcelona starting XI against Huesca, forming the three-man defensive line alongside fellow youngster Oscar Mingueza and Clement Lenglet. The trio will be shielding the ever-present figure of Marc-Andre ter Stegen between the sticks.

Sergino Dest is the obvious choice at right wing-back given the lack of options at manager Koeman’s disposal. On the left, though, he could make a change on Monday, handing Junior Firpo a rare start after he impressed from the bench against PSG last time out, which would allow Jordi Alba some much-needed rest.

Sergio Busquets is a guaranteed starter at the base of the midfield for Barcelona, while Pedri should get the nod in the middle of the park as well. Frenkie de Jong, who started in defence last time out, should return to his natural habitat in central midfield against Huesca.

Koeman spoke highly of his compatriot in his pre-match presser (h/t Barca Blaugranes), saying, “I think Frenkie has improved a lot. He is having a fantastic season so far and I think the way he’s playing recently you can’t possibly ask for more, he just needs to continue like this.”

Lionel Messi is a guaranteed starter and is set to make history on Monday, going on level with Xavi for the most appearances by a Barcelona player (767). “It’s incredible because it shows how important he is and has been for Barcelona. The number of games, the goals, the hat-tricks, the titles. Let’s hope we will continue with Leo winning titles,” Koeman said of his captain.

Ousmane Dembele has looked bright in recent games and should hold on to his spot in the attacking unit, ahead of the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Martin Braithwaite.

Barcelona Predicted XI: ter Stegen; Mingueza, Lenglet, Araujo; Dest, de Jong, Busquets, Pedri, Firpo; Dembele, Messi
